Death defying rock faces with dramatic views of the village below. Crags and ravines are abundant in this mountain range. Looks best at sunrise or sunset when the contrast helps define the mountain landscape. The stone formations change from deep reds, occasional purple sulphate deposits and back to various shades of grey.
A savannah-type plain and rocky floor with a view of Jebel Yanas in the background. This is a wide open space dotted with Acacia trees which survive on very little water. The dirt road leads to the old abandoned quarry.
This quarry in the Hajar Mountains has been abandoned for some time and doubles as the perfect secret hideout. Military or urban battle scenes can easily be filmed here. It joins many dirt tracks and some roughly paved roads.
A desolate valley with an abandoned quarry in the Hajar Mountains. The road leads from the foot of the mountain, starting off as a gravel track before turning to hard surface and later back to gravel.
This Mountain road location is great as a base camp or as a film location. 30 trucks or trailers can be parked here and still leave room for turning spaces and film catering. It’s easy to lock this road off as there are no side streets. This whole area would suit a post apocalyptic feature film.
Twisting chicane corners to show off a 4×4 or SUV in a stunning car commercial. Wide enough for 2 cars to pass, trucks be careful. The road gives a great dust trail, it can be increased with fullers earth. Closure of this road is not difficult but you will need unit runners at either end.
Running path with a city skyline and bay. If you want a walking cycling or jogging film location, this will definitely be an option. Green parks on one side and the sea on the other in the near distance, in front of you a modern skyscraper cityscape.
This city beach is inside a big park that boarders Dubai & Sharjah. Five beaches surround the green park space, making it a great beach filming location with other possibilities close by. The lifeguard towers are a particularly nice feature. The skyscraper backdrop is pretty surreal.
Abu Dhabi Film Location Mangrove, sand bridge and rustic road. A truly serene and picturesque scene that is sure to evoke a sense of peace and tranquility in anyone who beholds it. The winding dust road that sweeps through the mangrove trees and across a sandbar bridge create a sense of movement and invites viewers to imagine where it might lead. But don’t let it fool you the calm creates a perfect hang-the-cat opportunity to have a rally car hurtling through the scene of a TV commercial. Kayaks and other watercraft are available on site. This could be a scene for a family touring on holiday or an eerie, ominous backdrop for a horror movie. The trees that line the road stand tall and proud, their lush green foliage providing a canopy of shade and adding to the overall beauty of the scene. Thebody of water is tidal, it can double as a lake or river and adds a sense of calm and tranquility to the location. The reflections in the water create a sense of symmetry and harmony, enhancing the overall beauty of the landscape. The clear sky above, with just a few wisps of clouds, can suggest a beautiful day and adds to the peaceful atmosphere of this film location. The diversity of elements, road, bridge, trees, water, and sky come together to create a harmonious and captivating frame of nature’s quiet beauty. The scene allows DOPs and directors to pause and appreciate the simple yet profound beauty of the natural world. This serene setting could easily serve as your next picturesque film location. The scene set in Abu Dhabi can double for anywhere in the world, where the lush greenery and tranquil waters provide a stunning backdrop for storytelling. Overall, the location captures a moment of stillness and beauty in the midst of nature, reminding us of the importance of taking a moment to appreciate the world around us. It serves as a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and take in the beauty that surrounds us every day. There are quite a few different Mangrove Film Locations in Abudhabi but Abudhabi Film Location Mangrove is my favourite. Do take note of the tide timetable as the rise and fall are quite dramatic.
