About me

Dubai Photographer Stills Producer Jay Yao with his own modern equipment embarked on his creative journey in the Hong Kong movie industry as a production assistant. Over time, he worked his way up through various production roles, gaining invaluable experience and insights into the industry.

My journey led me from the early days of lighting and camera crews to ultimately becoming an accomplished photographer and film producer. This progression reflects my dedication and passion for visual storytelling, as well as my commitment to mastering the different facets of the creative process. My portfolio showcases a diverse range of collaborations with notable clients like Canon, Singapore Airlines, Discovery Channel, McDonald’s, and ING Bank. As a seasoned photographer and film producer, I’ve honed my skills to ensure precision, creativity, and innovation in every project. Capturing the extraordinary in the everyday. The skyscrapers of Dubai offer staggering modernistic facades whilst the deserts offer a natural endless backdrop. The natural water of the sea, lakes and mangroves make for a great shimmering beauty light. I’m very experienced with the unique natural light available in the Middle East. My main kit consists of Canon and Godox. Although based in Dubai I can travel and work internationally. I collaborate well with marketing, art, design and Retail teams. I help develop concepts, and employ various techniques to achieve desired results.
